What is your primary product or service?
Clock, watch, music box repair
How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
Started as a childhood hobby and has become a life long occupation. I have restored literally thousands of time pieces from all corners of the globe.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
There are few people practicing this craft today, and among them a wide range in level of expertise. It has been my personal experience over the long years, I have encountered many fine clocks that have fallen into inexperienced hands, which I have had to totally start over and properly restore to good working order. Fortunately many mistakes can be reversed, but it would be so much better and cheaper to have it fixed right the first time! I am the only shop I have ever found in this country that offers a 5 year warranty on clock overhauls. Clocksmith Peter Schryver
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
Only one location, and to hard to duplicate my efforts to expand. I have had at least 10 people begin to apprentice with me over the years but have not found anyone who can do all I do, and they are no longer repairing clocks. This is a very tedious art, and requires a wide range of skill sets in wood working, machining, mechanical comprehension, sometimes electrical background, and a natural artistic talent to be able to make parts from scratch. Oh, and did I mention endless patience...... :-)

The store is right off interstate 390 From 390 travel East on Lyell Avenue and make first right into the Stonegate health complex. My shop is Right in back of Stoney's restaurant.

Mastercard, Visa, Checks, Cash
Which areas do you service?
I generally service Rochester, NY. (Monroe County), but I welcome people from all surrounding counties or states. I have been known to drive three hours away to perform house calls on Grandfather clocks for my customers. It's getting harder to find craftsman in my field of expertise, so I go where I am needed. It's hard for me to say no, too far, since it gives me great satisfaction to help those who Cherish their clocks, and want to keep them in good working condition!
What are your hours of operation?
open: (M,T) 10am to 6pm (W) 10am to 7pm (T,F) 10 am to 6pm (Sat) by appointment (just call first) Closed Sunday
