How long have you been in business?
"A1Retouching" has been in business in Rochester, NY � and earned the DBA-title � on the 3rd of September of 2008 Professional PrePress and Studio-Experience has been growing since 1991 from working at 2 PrePress studios in Germany.
What is your primary product or service?
A1Retouching offers several primary products. We specialize in professional Photo Retouching/Editing and Image Manipulation, Beauty Retouching, digital Photo Restoration and printing of the restored images on professional EPSON printers and use only genuine EPSON inks and EPSON papers.
How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
As the owner of A1Retouching I have always been interested in colors, creativity and � at times � "breaking my brain" over certain "problems" that I either had to or wanted to solve. Working in my line of business makes me able to combine all of that: 1. colors: While learning the great art of retouching from '91 - '93 in Germany with a regular brush on film (at first, and probably one of the very last people on earth with that knowledge in my blood) I could teach my eyes to distinguish between the slightest differences in the shade/hue of a color � I was (and am still) able to pass the "XRite Color Vision-Test" (FM 100 Hue Test) with a score of '0' (meaning perfect color vision). 2. creativity: At times my work allows be to be creative and let my mind play with all the possibilities Photoshop has to offer 3. problem solving: While some projects are "standard" and don't require any "special treatment", to others I like to refer to as a "Maze that I am supposed to walk through (the process of getting to the final result). Before starting, though, I have the possibility to look at it from a 'bird's-eye-view' and so can find my way through that "maze" (that's knowing of which tools to use in order to get to the desired/required/requested end-result while also knowing in which >correct< order to use those tools). Once I found the way that will successfully bring me to the end of the "maze" I then "glide down" to the entrance of the "maze" and begin my way (that then would be selecting the first tool/adjustment until saving the final work for the last time).
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
I am only happy if I know that my clients are happy and I know that I did everything possible to make them feel this way. From personal experienceS (capital "S" at the end, yes, because there were more than one!) I can tell you that businesses in the area (that also call themselves professional) � and might be in business for many more years than A1Retouching � do not provide/live the same customer awareness/consciousness they "display" to the public... With A1Retouching, however, I am trying extremely hard to provide just that.
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
Currently there is 1 location. Eventually, and if the budget allows, I would love to expand. It would be great if that would not remain only a dream but become true one day...

Who owns your company or runs daily operations?
A1Retouching is privately owned and currently � (I'm honest, why not? of course!) a "home-business". I am the front-desk lady, the janitor, supplier and best of all, the boss (in case I need to ask for a few days off...usually it's not too hard to get them, haha)... You see I am a person just like you, responsible but still able to enjoy the fun in life, just trying to make the best out of it
What are your hours of operation?
MO - SU: 8am EST - 10pm EST The "doors are open" at pretty much any time. I like to get some sleep, too, so the general hours are:
