Owner-operated fire extinguisher company since 2002. I sell, refill, and service fire extinguishers. I also provide custom fire extinguisher training to customers as to how to properly use a fire extinguisher that they have at their location. I am also have been a volunteer fireman since 1991. How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
I have been a volunteer fire fighter for 19 years and my father and cousin were both paid fire fighters. My cousin also owned this company but moved out of state and when he did I bought it from him
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
I am a poor salesman. I will not sell a customer what they do not need. I give the options of what could be done, along with the pros and cons of each option and together we determine what is best for the customer, while keeping the customer in compliance.
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
I work out of my home but have many supplies in Canandaigua, which is where my cousin had the business for many years.
What type of payments do you accept?
Check and cash. I do not accept credit cards at this time.
Which areas do you service?
Well, I am the third owner of the company. It originated in Penn Yan, NY. So I still cover most of Yates County, and do work in Ontario County, Wayne County, and Monroe County. But, if the job is big enough, I will travel.
Who owns your company or runs daily operations?
I do
What are your hours of operation?
Currently, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. My hours can fluctuate depending on where I have to go and how long it takes to get that route done.
