How long have you been in business?
20 years experience as a Psychotherapist and 13 years of experience as Psychopharmacologist. I have been a NYS licensed mental health therapist in Private Practice providing mental health treatment for over 15 years.
What is your primary product or service?
Individual (Adult-18yrs.of age and over) and Couples (Relationship) Counseling/Psychotherapy Psychiatric Medication Consultation,Medication Management, and Treatment. Psychiatric Evaluations.
How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
I have loved the field of Psychiatry since my under graduate training experience in Nursing School. After obtaining my BS degree in Nursing, I went on to obtain further Medical/Surgical work experiences in Obstetrics and Gynecology for a couple years. I then decided after working in Psychiatry at the URMC-Strong Memorial Hospital Behavioral Health Department for several years to attend University of Rochester for my Graduate Education specializing in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing and to obtain my Nurse Practitioner degree with Prescriptive Privileges. I have extensive experience in a variety of areas of Psychiatry at the University of Rochester Medical Center (URMC)including Inpatient Psychiatry, Outpatient Psychiatry, Psychiatric Emergency Department and in Psychiatric Mental Health Research in conjunction with the National Institute of Mental Health.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
I provide both Psychotherapy and Psychiatric Medication if determined that Medication treatment may be helpful in relieving your distress. Nurse Practitioners provide some of the same care provided by Physicians and must be in a collaborative practice with a physician,in order to prescribe. My core philosophy is individualized care. Involving my client in their health care and encouraging them to participate in decisions about their treatment as partners is central to my training and approach. I value prompt phone call response, and availability to my clients. My areas of Specialty include Therapy for Mood and Anxiety Disorders, Couples Counseling, Trauma/Abuse, Grief/Loss, Stress Management, Psychiatric Medication medication, and Consultation.
